After breakfast, you will be assisted to check in at OR Tambo International Airport where you will board your flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Old Drift Lodge where you will spend (2) nights on a full board basis including activities.

The Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, forming a natural border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was described by the Kololo tribe living in the area as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ for the immense spray and incredible noise caused by the rushing water. Victoria Falls is now also known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world when its width and height are combined.

Columns of spray can be seen from miles away as, at the height of the rainy season, more than five hundred million cubic metres (over 17 billion cubic feet) of water per minute plummet over the edge, over a width of nearly two kilometres or over a mile, into a gorge over a hundred metres or 300 feet below.

DAY 11 –– CONTINUE TO YOUR EXPLORE OF

VICTORIA FALLS, FULL DAY

Today you will have the full day to enjoy the activities on offer at Old Drift Lodge including a guided tour of the falls, morning or afternoon game drives or River Safaris.

Fact: Victoria Falls is the only waterfall in the world with a length of more than a kilometer and a height of more than hundred meters. It is also considered to be the largest fall in the world.

Fact: The noise of Victoria Falls can be heard from a distance of 40 kilometers, while the spray and mist from the falling water is rising to a height of over 400 meters and can be seen from a distance of 50 kilometers. No wonder that the local tribes used to call the waterfall Mosi-o-Tunya “The smoke that thunders”.

Characterised by striking blue seating, dyed by a naturally occurring pigment found in Botswana, and by great swathes of space, the main mess area is a lovely place to eat and meet. The food is beautifully presented, the service amicable without being overbearing.
